I love to make bread without butter, so when I was asked by a friend for a recipe, I knew I had to try it.
First, make sure that you have plenty of wheat flour.
It’s easy to over-thoroughly mix up your wheat flour, and it’s even easier to overmix it when you are working with a large batch.
This recipe uses one cup of whole wheat flour (1/2 cup whole wheat, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 cup milk).2 tablespoons of butter (I used unsalted butter)1 cup of water3/4 cup of sugar2 cups of wheat (I use the whole wheat recipe)Directions:1.
Combine all the ingredients except the flour in a small bowl and mix well.
This will be your first step in the process.2.
Heat the oven to 375 degrees F. Mix together the flour, butter, and water in a bowl.3.
Add the remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly.
Pour the batter into the prepared bread pan.4.
Bake for 15 to 18 minutes.
Remove the bread from the pan and set aside for a few minutes.5.
For the bread, put the bread into a large baking dish.
Bake the bread for 15 minutes.
If you want the bread to be thicker, add a tablespoon or two of oil.6.
Once the bread is done, it should be crisp and brown.
The butter will coat the bread.7.
Transfer the bread onto a plate and cool completely.
Store in an airtight container.
You can store the bread in the refrigerator for up to a week.
