BARRINGTON, Ky.

(AP) A Kentucky man was sentenced to five years in prison for trying to feed a cross-bow bolt through his pumpkin bread to kill a crossbow bolt-toting animal, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Kentucky said Wednesday.

John P. Burch, 63, was sentenced Wednesday in U.C. Riverside Federal Court.

He was arrested in March 2016 and pleaded guilty to aggravated battery on a federal law enforcement officer and making a false statement to the FBI.

He was sentenced for a felony count of making a threat to kill wildlife and for failing to comply with a court order to register as a firearms dealer, the FBI said.

Burch’s attorney, David Burch of Louisville, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
